July, 29th 2004 I found my old webpage (including RasInTask). Read all about it here on gnegg.ch
    November, 14th 2003 No. I'm still not dead ;-)
My newest toy is stripget.php which delivers some daily comic strips directly to my email-adress.
September, 13th 2003 Somenone *really* cool used faked email adresses originating from my domain to send a massive amount of SPAM. Please note that:
    • I do not send SPAM
    • All Email you seemingly got from this domain uses faked From-Headers - none of these adresses does exist
    • My Email server is *not* an open relay. The SPAM has not been sent over my Email-Server

October, 14th 2002 Inspired by an article of the german magazine c't, I've writte a small tool, allowing any filetype under windows to be understood by the integrated fulltext search engine.
July, 2nd 2002 Whenever I have a free second or two, I cannot stop thinking of you. And when doing so, I become filled with energy letting me feel able to conquer the world with my bare hands.

Every time not at your side, I am counting back the seconds until we meet again and every one of those seconds feels like hours to me.

    I love you so much.

June, 26th 2002 I told you yesterday that there will be more useless junk to be posted on this site. Today, I finally found some time to install Gallery and upload quite a few pictures. None of them is actually useful, but who knows? Maybe someone wants to see me wearing SPAM

In case you ask: Yes. I am still working on the setup. My next goal will be to integrate the script within my page. Then I will add some captions and descriptions.

Additional warning: The pictures have an incredibly high resolution, so it may take some time for you to download the full-sized version.

June, 25th 2002 Just wanted to let you know that I am still alive. There was no update for quite some time now. I apologize for that. I am currently working on quite a few tings to post here: One more thing: I always like feedback for my work, but please do not send me support-requests concerning your dvd drives unless it is about absolutly the same model as I wrote about. Aditionally, do not send me questions not related to working around the region code. I will strictly not answer any requests as I really dislike any kind of support questions.

And: Please stop SPAMing himself@pilif.ch or I will be forced to shoot back.

April, 29th 2002 Last weekend I wrote a small script creating selfdestructing email-adresses. Have your own MTA? Go and get it!
April, 1th 2002 Eager to look at all the April Jokes outh there, I came across some information about a Freshmeat-Redesign. I really hope this Article stays there some time...
February, 24th 2002 I just have beaten Miguel in a lengthy Chrono Cross-Session and as he was quite difficult, I have written a small guide on how to kill him.
February, 2nd 2002 bs just told us something I just have to tell my visitors: Nothing enters any spalt without prior written approval by the subject to be inspalted!!

    Don't ask. Just wonder...

December, 20th 2001 Got my hands on a brand new IBM Thinkpad T23 with a brand new DVD-Drive. Of course, I still need to watch both Code 1 and Code 2 DVDs on it, so I too, looked for a possibility to hack the code. Wrote another article and posted two files...
November, 23th 2001 Oliver Siegmar kindly designed a web-interface for the mail-configuration my tutorial is explaining and suggested to convert the tutorial to a full-fledged project which is now reachable at www.xams.org.
The original mail.txt is thus not maintained any longer but will remain on thes server for reference.
August, 31th 2001 (late) The PHP-Class for parsing the XML-Output of the Swisscom ADSL-Checker which is on this page for quite some time now, but that has never been announced here, has been fixed to be compliant with the HTTP-Redirect, the Swisscom-Server is sending. The class now requires curl to be included into your PHP-Distribution.
August, 28th 2001 (early) Don't know if your DNS-Server is already aware of the corrected MX. Anyway. I have further extended my german-only Mail-Configuration-Tutorial which can now store user-defined filters for every registered account. And I rewrote the cdb-creating-script to use Perl instead of PHP.
August, 27th 2001 Ok... the new DNS has propagated, but actually I was quite stupid when setting up the BIND-Server, so Mailing me is not possible until yet another TTL times out: I forgot the last dot after the name of the primary MX so Mails to pilif.ch are going to be delivered to mail.sensational.ch.pilif.ch which is not really what I want ;-) I've corrected it, but Mails already sent to my new address will timeout and bounce.

I will post another message when I think the changes should be through.

August, 25th 2001 Finally, the new server is connected and the new DNS-Servers have been registered and approved. I am still waiting for the TTL of the old DNS-Server for pilif.ch to expire, but this should happen soon enough. If you can read this message, then you are already on the new Server with its new IP-Address and other comfort-features like a valid MX-Record for pilif.ch (using the Mail-System below) which allows me to create my very own adresses. Feel free to reach me at my new Email-Adress himself@pilif.ch. The old adress still remains valid of course.
August, 17th 2001 I did some work on a MySQL-based virtual Email-System, capable of handling an unlimited amount of domains, aliases and accounts. I documented the whole configuration here, but unfortunately, it is available in german only. When the configuration reaches a more stable level (meaning less changes not more stability: it is stable), I will possibly translate it, but I would really appriciate it if one of my german-speaking readers that is using the solution described here could do the translation for me as I am not *that* good in english.
April, 6th 2001 I've just set up my LINST, a Lamp Integrated Neuronal Stream Transmitter. Have a look at two pictures.
April, 3th 2001; later again Added a warning about setting the region code on a new, unused drive and the original firmware to my little DVD-Tutorial after having received a mail that flashing the firmware of a drive without any region code set could make the drive incapable of playing any disc that is region code protected.
April, 3th 2001; at a later time Enabled syntax-highlighting of the PHP-Code in my Exim-Article and changed the stylesheet to use Arial/Helvetica as default font. I began to dislike Verdana/Geneva. Finally I've fixed a bug with my automatical navigation generator that displayed the wrong sub-sub-navigation (always the last one).
April, 3th 2001; early No joke: The Article about Exim and Bounce-Messages is finished. Learn how your webapplication can react on bounces generated while sending mail to users that registered with a wrong address. I think, it's still full of errors, but I wanted to finally post it. It's a start anyway.
February, 13th 2001 Added information on how to hack the region-code of an IBM Thinkpad T21's DVD-Drive. Stay tuned for an article about how web-applications can react on bounce-mails. I have implemented such a thing with Exim and PHP about two months ago.
February, 12th 2001 Relaunched pilif.ch. Borrowed layout from superspeed.ch Please read this page to learn where the old content vanished to.
